# Buying Solana & Buying a Solana Token

#### This guide covers two main topics:

1. **How to Buy Solana (SOL) with USD**
2. **How to Purchase a Token Using SOL**

## **Part 1: How to Buy Solana (SOL) with USD**

#### **Method 1: Buying Directly Through Phantom Wallet**

1. **Download & Open Phantom Wallet**

* If you haven’t already, download the Phantom Wallet app and/or google chrome extension.
* Open the app/extension.

1. **Initiate Purchase**

* Click on **“Buy”** and select **SOL**.

1. **Choose Payment Method**

* Options include: Debit Card, Apple Pay, Venmo, Google Pay, PayPal, or Stripe.

1. **Complete Transaction**

* Follow the prompts to complete the purchase.

#### **Method 2: Buying via Jupiter Onboard**

1. **Visit Jupiter Onboard**

* Navigate to the Jupiter Onboard website.

1. **Select Asset**

* Choose **SOL** as the asset you want to buy.

1. **Choose Payment Method**

* Options include: Apple Pay, Credit/Debit Card, Bank Transfer, Google Pay, Venmo, or PayPal.

1. **Complete the Purchase & Send SOL**

* After completing your purchase, send it to your Phantom Wallet's (or whatever wallet your using) Solana receive address.

#### **Method 3: Buying via MoonPay iOS App**

1. **Download MoonPay App**

* Get the MoonPay app from the iOS App Store.

1. **Select & Purchase SOL**

* Choose **SOL** and enter the desired purchase amount.
* Complete your payment using your preferred method.

1. **Receive SOL**

* Your SOL will be delivered to your connected Phantom Wallet or send it to your wallets solana receive address.

#### **Method 5: Buying via Centralized Exchanges (Coinbase, Kraken, etc.)**

1. **Sign Up**

* Register for an account on a major exchange (e.g., Coinbase or Kraken).

1. **Purchase SOL**

* Use your bank account, credit/debit card, or PayPal to buy SOL.

1. **Note on Withdrawals**

* Some exchanges may require up to a week before allowing you to withdraw SOL to your Phantom Wallet.

## **Part 2: How to Purchase a Token Using SOL**

#### **Method 1: Buying Directly Through Pump.fun**

1. **Visit Pump.fun**

* Go to the Pump.fun website.

1. **Connect Your Wallet**

* Connect your Phantom Wallet.

1. **Find Your Token**

* Search for the token or navigate to its dedicated subpage.

1. **Buy the Token**

* Click **Buy** and approve the transaction in your wallet.

1. **Completion**

* The purchased token will appear in your Phantom Wallet.

#### **Method 2: Swapping SOL for the Token in Phantom Wallet**

1. **Open Phantom Wallet**

* Launch your Phantom Wallet app.

1. **Initiate Swap**

* Click on the swap icon (the middle icon with two arrows).

1. **Set Swap Details**

* Under **“You Pay”**, select **SOL**.
* Under **“You Receive”**, paste the token’s contract address (CA) into the search bar.

1. **Confirm Swap**

* Select the token from the search results and confirm the swap.

1. **Wait for Completion**

* Wait a few seconds for the transaction to complete. The tokens will then appear in your wallet.
